Our mission is to preserve and celebrate German musical heritage and culture, develop the musicianship of band members, and foster camaraderie among fellow musicians and performers . . . and have a lot of fun doing it!

Our 30-piece German brass band, under the direction of award-winning musician, band leader and Grammy nominee Fred Ziwich, performs many times throughout the year, so please check out our performance schedule if you’d like to see us live.  We’re also glad to sell you a copy of our DMV LIVE CD, which includes many of our best tunes recorded live (as they should be heard!).

Enjoy our picture gallery and view fun photos of band members, performances, events and travel, both stateside and abroad.  Sample song clips in our CD Selection and get ready to Roll out the Barrel and experience the spirit of ’fest season.

DMV rocks the ’haus in ’07!  The DMV, celebrating its 40th Anniversary in 2007, returned to Europe, enjoying a ten-day culture and performance tour in July.  Beginning with a concert in historic Nuremberg, Germany, we traveled across the scenic beauty of the Austrian countryside.  While in Austria, we toured and performed in the enchanting cities of Vienna and Salzburg, with sojourns to Chiemsee and Innsbruck.  By special invitation we visited Garmisch, Germany's Edelweiss Lodge and Resort (nestled in the Bavarian Alps with the Zugspitze as a majestic backdrop) where we had the honor of entertaining active-duty U.S. Military service members and their families, as well as military retirees and Foreign Service members.  Before saying a fond auf Wiedersehen and departing Germany, the DMV was once again invited by the world-famous Munich Hofbrauhaus to entertain over 1000 patrons at the 19th century beer hall.   As in 2000, response to our performance was overwhelmingly enthusiastic and boisterous, ending with several encores and a memorable send-off for the band from this iconic German landmark.

Join us!  We’re always looking for new members, so if you play a band instrument and live in the Cleveland area, please contact us.  We rehearse weekly on Monday nights, 8:30 p.m., at the Sachsenheim Hall (7001 Denison Avenue on Cleveland’s west side).

Remember . . . any event is potentially an Oktoberfest!  Please consider us if you’re looking to add a bit of festive German “umpah” music to your gathering.

Pros't!
